The Jetcar is a vehicle made from scattered playroom toys in the classroom. The New York Wonder Pets (Izzy, Zuri, and Tate) build and use it to leave the schoolhouse and travel around the globe to save animals in trouble. It is the ITC equivalent of the Flyboat.
Looks[]
The Jetcar is composed of 3 bowls with yellow rims, acting as a seat for each pet-one orange bowl on the front with 4 lights-the outer two being pink and the inner two being orange, and the other two turquoise at the back with green, pink, and yellow lights each in that order, both on the front and at the back (the latter of which goes for the back of the orange bowl similar to the Flyboat). It has four purple wheels: two on the front bowl and one on each back bowl. Each back bowl has two connected orange triangular magna-tiles (similar to PicassoTiles) for wings with a yellow bottle-esque jet engine with blue and purple nozzles that emit bubbles for flight. The bowls are connected with two indigo pop tubes - one connecting the back bowls on each side to the front bowl. The front bowl also has a purple pinwheel-like propeller on the front that is connected by a purple Lego-like piece on the front bowl. The pop tubes have a yellow gear connecting to each back bowl and a yellow wrench for a lever to the front bowl, for elevating or lowering the bowls and enabling the bubble jets. Finally, the front bowl has a turquoise button for driving the Jetcar.
Variations[]
Jet-Boat[]
The Jet-boat is a variation of the Jetcar used in Save the Salmon! It replaces the wheels with small floaty rings- two yellow at the front, two orange at the back, along with one of the wings attached to the back pointing downward, presumably to keep the boat in place. The steering wheel was replaced with that of a pirate ship. It also has a mast made out of a blue stick, plus a sail with the Wonder Pets! logo drawn on it, which is a callback to the Flyboat's erector mast and sail.
Jet-Scooter[]
The Jet-scooter is a variation of the Jetcar used in Save Tate? It has a long, rectangular cyan magna tile. The lever is used as the handlebars, and one of the indigo pop tubes is used to hold it. It has three of the same purple wheels, two of the same wings, and the same engines, only without the small purple ends.
Trivia[]
- The Jetcar is named after Jeffery "Jet" Lesser, a longtime composer who brought the music format to the series.
- Much like the Flyboat, the Jetcar is also named after a real-life vehicle.
- In Help the Little Hawk, the Jetcar is revealed to have seatbelts. This is currently the only instance, though.
- The Jetcar has a hover function where the engines and wheels are lifted down with small versions of the pop tubes connecting them to the rest of the Jetcar when the lever is pulled to the back.
- In Save the Hippo, the Jetcar is revealed to have an A.C. function with three fans, one for each bowl.
- In Save the Mountain Lion and Save the Roly Poly, due to an animation error, the Jetcar looks very different, and it was possibly a prototype design for it:
- The bowls have thinner rims, the back two looking slightly squarer.
- The propeller is blue-purple rather than just purple.
- The wheels have more shine.
- One of the wings appears thinner.
- The bubble jets lack the small purple ends, similar to the Jet-Scooter.
- There are three lights on each side of the propeller rather than two. Speaking of lights, they look slightly flatter.
- And the steering wheel looks like a coin rather than being a turquoise button.
