Linny the Guinea Pig is the protagonist of the Wonder Pets!  series.

Description[]

Linny the Guinea Pig is the group's leader. Linny is the brains of the outfit, a fearless guinea pig who will do anything to help a fellow creature in need. She represents the developmental age of a five-year-old and is also the oldest of the Wonder Pets. If there is any animal in trouble where the team is required to go underwater, Linny always puts on her scuba gear so she can breathe underwater and then joins Ming-Ming and Tuck or builds The Fly-Sub. Linny reminds her fellow creatures to value teamwork and trust. Her favorite food is celery.

Personality[]

Linny is the smartest and oldest of the group. Since she spent the majority of her life in the Schoolhouse, she became knowledgeable of many different things.

Linny cries in four episodes:

In Save the Mouse!, Linny had a cold. So when she sings her line, "The phone! The phone is...!" (in a stuffy and crying voice). Then she sneezes. And then sings, "...RINGING!". This is the first episode out of the four where she cries

In Join the Circus! , Linny is shown to become very upset and cried when Tuck and Ming-Ming wanted to be in the Animal Circus instead of being the Wonder Pets. This is the second episode.

In How It All Began! , Linny is seen crying when it was just her in the classroom. That is, after she says she wishes she had a friend. However, it is not long until she hears Tuck's voice (where she sees him for the first time). This is the third one.
In Happy Mother's Day! , Linny became very upset and cried when they ran out of Celery shaped sugar cookies for Granny Winny. This is the fourth and final.

She is shown to get offended when someone refers to her as a different species or call her a boy (Save Humpty Dumpty! ). Ollie the Bunny always refers to her as "pig", which she gets annoyed at and corrects him with "Guinea pig", She also got annoyed when Ming-Ming made fun of her in Save the Visitor!

Looks[]

Linny has brown and tan fur. She wears an orange baseball cap and a blue cape with the Wonder Pets' logo on it. Linny's nose and paws are pink. When she's in her scuba gear, she also wears yellow fins and a snorkel mask. In her baby form --which appears at a flashback in the episode How It All Began!-- she (Linny) wears a white bib with a pink flower in the middle.

History[]

Linny had lived in the Schoolhouse for the majority of her life. It's unknown if she was born there, or the teacher had bought her at a pet shop. It's implied that the reason Linny is so knowledgeable is because of her years living in the Schoolhouse, listening to the teacher's lessons and reading the books there.

Appearances[]

Linny appears in every episode of Wonder Pets! and in both Linny the Guinea Pig shorts. Her first appearance on television was in the short "Linny the Guinea Pig in Space." Her first appearance in an episode of Wonder Pets! was in "Save the Dolphin," and her last appearance was in "In the Land of Oz."

She is the first pet to live in the classroom.
She can't swim as well as Tuck and Ming-Ming, so she uses her mask and fins.
In the Hebrew dub of Wonder Pets!, she is voiced by a boy.
It's unknown what breed she is.
She is the only one of the four Wonder Pets main characters (four if counting Ollie) who was never an animal in trouble.
- This does not include the Season 1 episode Save the Wonder Pets, that is, where she, Tuck, and Ming-Ming were the animals in trouble when they got stuck in the whale's mouth.
- Ming-Ming did this in Save the Duckling!, Save the Pigeon! Save the Moose in the Caboose!, Save the Dancing Duck!, and Bee and Slug Underground!. Tuck did this in Save the Turtle!. And Ollie did this in Ollie to the Rescue! and How It All Began!. But Linny is the only Wonder Pets member to not do it solely as Ming-Ming, Tuck, and Ollie (in their episodes Save the Duckling!, Save the Turtle!, Ollie to the Rescue!, How It All Began!, Save the Moose in the Caboose!, Save the Dancing Duck!, and Bee and Slug Underground! respectively).
  - Ming-Ming did this solely in five episodes (Save the Duckling!, Save the Pigeon!, Save the Moose in the Caboose!, Save the Dancing Duck!, and Bee and Slug Underground!), Tuck did this in one episode (Save the Turtle!), and Ollie did this in two (Ollie to the Rescue! and How It All Began!). (Indeed, all of the Wonder Pets characters were an animal in trouble in at least one episode. That is, except for Linny herself. And --to repeat-- this does not include Save the Wonder Pets, as the other three main characters --Ming-Ming, Tuck, and Ollie-- did this solely. For Save the Wonder Pets, all three main characters --Linny herself, Tuck, and Ming-Ming-- all three of them were the animals in trouble.)
- Linny did not appear in her cage at the beginning of the episode Save the Old White Mouse! (just like Tuck was absent from his cage in Save the Turtle and Ming-Ming was absent from hers in Save the Duckling). But that could not have truly been an episode with Linny being the animal in trouble. Instead, she was visiting her grandmother (Granny Ginny). And the animal in trouble was Bernie the Mouse.
  - However, all three of these episodes did have the main characters (Linny herself, Tuck, and Ming-Ming) be absent from their cages in the beginning. (That is, minus Ollie.) But Tuck and Ming-Ming, they were the animal in trouble in those two respective episodes (Save the Duckling! and Save the Turtle!).
- Linny was sick in the episode Save the Mouse!. But both this episode and Save the Old White Mouse! still would've made Linny not an animal in trouble. That is, even though she did not ride the Flyboat.
With the exception of Ollie --if he (Ollie) is considered a main character of the original TV series-- all of the main characters (Linny herself, Tuck, and Ming-Ming) cried in at least one episode.
- Linny (herself) did this in Save the Mouse!, Join the Circus!, How It All Began!, and Happy Mother's Day!. And thus, out of the main trio (Linny herself, Tuck, and Ming-Ming), Linny herself cries the most frequent.
- Tuck did this in Save the Reindeer. Ming-Ming also does this in the same episode. And thus out of the main trio, this makes Tuck the one that cries the rarest.
- Ming-Ming did this in Save the Duckling! (though this was during the song Ming-Ming’s Lament), Save the Reindeer (along with Tuck), and Save the Wonder Pets!.
  - However (regarding with Ming-Ming), in the episodes Save the Duckling! and Save the Wonder Pets!, Ming-Ming cried solely. The difference --regarding with the episode Save the Reindeer! (in Season 1)-- is that both she and Tuck cried (despite separately). In Save the Reindeer!, Tuck cried because Ming-Ming broke his snow globe. (That is, as he says --through bitter tears and between sobs-- "SORRY WON'T FIX IT!" and resumes crying. And he sheds a tear, as he does so.) In the same episode (Save the Reindeer!) Ming-Ming cries at the end. (This is shown near the end of the episode. Ming-Ming, she says to Tuck, "Tuck, you are making me cry here!". Then she sheds a tear and cries.)
- Ollie (if considered a main character) is the only one out of the four who never cried in any episode.
Linny touches her pink nose in three episodes (Save the Mouse!, Save the Skunk!, and Save the Platypus!).
- In the first episode of the three, although this was not heard or for the public, Sofie Zamchick also had a cold at the time of the episode Save the Mouse!.
  - This may be because Sofie's cold was due to experiencing puberty (which --for some children-- occurs when the begin their ages on the late single digits) at the time of the said episode.
She loves celery, and she is even shown dreaming about it.
A lot of viewers were confused by Linny's gender and species, some even believing she was a porcupine (porcupines wouldn’t make good school pets, due to their quills).
She doesn't get a solo in the Wonder Pets Theme Song.
A lot of viewers confused her name for Lenny or Winny (who is her grandmother).
She and Ming-Ming usually appears on Nick Jr. Compilation DVD Covers from 2007 to 2015.
