Ming-Ming Duckling is the tritagonist of the Wonder Pets! television show.

Description

Ming-Ming Duckling is outgoing and overconfident. She has recently learned to fly, and she loves flying more than anything, even though she can only get about 4 or 5 feet off the ground. Ming-Ming enjoys being the center of attention, can sometimes be overzealous, and often gets ahead of herself, which provides comic relief in the show. Ming-Ming represents the developmental age of a three-year-old.

Personality

In the first episode, Save the Dolphin, Ming-Ming is shown to have a desire to want to do things on her own but needs to be reminded about teamwork. Her full name is revealed in "Save the Duckling", She’s shown to be very proud of being a duck and her flying ability (which is impressive for her age, as she was able to fly as soon as she hatched.)

She’s shown to get bored and distracted very easily (in Save the Dancing Duck! and Save the Moose in the Caboose! she gets bored and doesn't know what to do. In Save the Vixen! she gets distracted by food and wanders off).

Looks

Ming-Ming has yellow feathers, orange (sometimes yellow) legs, and a light pink beak. As a superhero, she wears a brown aviator's cap with goggles and a green cape.

History

Ming-Ming was brought into the Schoolhouse as an egg. Linny and Tuck were already living there for quite some time, and they meet her when she hatches. It's unknown where the teacher got the egg from.

Appearances

Ming-Ming appears in every episode of the Wonder Pets! series except Linny the Guinea Pig in Space and Linny the Guinea Pig Under the Ocean, the pilot episodes of the series. Her first appearance was in Save the Penguin, and her last appearance was in In the Land of Oz.

Trivia

• Ming-Ming wanted to name the Wonder Pets "Ming-Ming's Super Singing Power Pets!"
• She’s Linny's second friend, and the third pet to be brought to the classroom.
• She believes her great-grandfather might have been an eagle or an emu, as she stated in Save the Kangaroo.
• Pirate Peg and Young Mermaid call her Ding-Ding. And she corrects them by saying: “Uh, Ming-Ming!” (In Save the Pirate Parrot) “It’s Ming-Ming!” (In Save the Mermaid)
• Ming-Ming speaks with a prominent rhotacism, which is a difficulty of producing r sounds in her speaking, having them sound as w. Case in point, she'd say "This is se-wious" whenever there’s trouble.
• Real ducks take about 5 to 8 weeks to fly, but Ming-Ming could fly as soon as she hatched.
• She and Linny usually appear on Nick Jr. Compilation DVD Covers from 2007 to 2015.
• She appeared in the Cartoon Network show "MAD."
• While performing Ming-Ming’s Lament in Behind the Scenes, her voice actress Danica Lee was actually in tears.
• On the Noggin Website from 2005-2009, Ming-Ming would be the icon for the Wonder Pets.

• Ming-Ming was the animal in trouble in the most episodes.
