Save the Baby Chick! is the second segment in the second episode of Wonder Pets: In the City!.

This new generation episode starts out like normal, with the schoolchildren, off-screen, leaving school at the end of the day. They say goodbye to the classroom pets. The classroom once again is decorated with student artwork and other items that have something to do with chickens and farms. Once the classroom is vacant, the Walkie-Phone starts ringing. One by one, the classroom pets wordlessly notice the ringing phone (Izzy is asleep, Zuri is playing with fake chickens, and Tate has his eyes closed). The Wonder Pets get dressed and make their way towards the phone while singing their opening verses. And first, the Wonder Pets don't hear or see anything but then find out that there's an animal in trouble somewhere. Izzy explains the situation to the other two: a little chick who needs to get to her food but is blocked by other chicks. They get dressed and start to assemble the Jetcar. The Wonder Pets try to find the steering wheel, but Tate sees it and can't speak up. Izzy and Zuri wonder why Tate can't speak up. Tate doesn't like to speak up. So, Izzy and Zuri sing to him that it is okay to speak up and also show him that a special pose called a "power pose" will help him. Tate finally tells them that the steering wheel his up on a shelf. With that, they finish the Jetcar and take off, and through the exit up to the sky and sing the theme song.
They arrive in the forest where they struggle to find the barn. Tate tells them that he found the barn. They land, and they have to find the chick. Zuri hears the baby chick, and the Wonder Pets meet her. Zuri tells her to hop over the chick and tries to demonstrate, but it doesn't work. Izzy tells the chick to speak up, but the other chicks don't listen. The chick's stomach begins to rumble. Zuri claims this as "Unbelievable!" Izzy and Zuri try to find a way to the chicken food, but Tate stops them. Tate compares trying to tell Izzy and Zuri where the steering wheel was. Tate tells and Wonder Pets tell the chick that it's okay to speak up. The chick takes the Wonder Pets' advice, does a power pose, and tells the other chick that she's hungry... And it WORKS! The chick gives thanks to the Wonder Pets for helping her.
The Wonder Pets celebrate with celery and the chick once again, thank them loud and clear. They fly home, singing a reprise version of the theme song. They wordlessly return to their cages until the next episode. Tate and Zuri land in their cages, the Jetcar smoothly disassembles by itself, and Izzy parachutes down to her cage, shakes her hair back to normal, and winks at the camera, ending the episode.

Trivia[]
- This episode features the first time in the N.G. where the Wonder Pets return to a place, they've previously been to save a friend of someone they rescued before.
- Starting in this episode, when Izzy shakes her hair, normal there was a purple cloud visible with means that her purple hair might be caused by some sort of purple powder.
- When the Wonder Pets put on their capes, they look similar to the very first promo image released hugging and looking at the camera. This animation will be used subsequently throughout episodes, gradually retiring the previous animation from Save the Runaway Egg!.
- This is the first episode where the Jetcar uses its hovering ability.
- When Tate hops on the blocks to get to the phone, the animation is reused from Save the Porcupine!.
- This will also happen in Help the Little Hawk!.
- This is a sequel to Save the Runaway Egg.
- The lesson is similar to the O.G. episode: Save the Rooster, where the lesson is speaking up to be heard.
- Coincidentally, this is also the second time in the franchise where the Wonder Pets go to a farm and a bird needs saving.
Goofs[]
- When Zuri said "Unbelievable!", she was mirrored.
- Izzy used a toy truck to get out of her cage, but in the next sense, she was crawling.
- On the bookshelf with the chicken door, the decoration is reused from the last episode.
- The chick is referred to as a “baby chick.” This is inaccurate, since a chick is already a baby chicken. This inaccuracy also occurred in Save the Kitten when the original Wonder Pets referred to the kitten as a "baby kitten." The same goes for Save the Goslings!.
- When Izzy said it was time for a celery-bration, a fourth piece of celery appeared out of nowhere in Zuri's hand.
- This could possibly mean that there was supposed to be a scene where Zuri gives the fourth celery piece to the Baby Chick, but it was scrapped. (Probably due to time constraints.)
